Lucas and Iris Save the World, Feature film

 

Lucas and Iris... is a coming-of-age drama about two teenagers who take justice into their own hands and find themselves in way over their heads. When Lucas, a trans boy navigating a pre-pubescent coming of age, reconnects with Iris, his childhood best friend, the two stumble upon a plan to target a local polluter. What begins as petty sabotage escalates into an act of eco-terrorism. As the consequences unfold, their bond is tested by guilt, desire, and the inescapable gravity of adulthood. Set over one feverish summer, the film blends naturalistic performances with a documentary-style lens, capturing the energy and recklessness of youth.

 

Through intimate camerawork and raw, semi-improvisational dialogue, Lucas and Iris... explores what happens when idealism collides with reality, when good intentions go sideways, and the only way out is through.
